Youth @WCMC

Welcome to our

Youth Page!

Here you will find all the information on our weekly groups, residentials, any upcoming special events, our schools work and about some of the collaborative work we do with other churches in our area.

At WCMC and the Meon Valley Circuit youth groups, we give young people a safe space to explore the Christian faith and their own beliefs. Our groups are a place people can be authentically themselves and where everyone is welcome.

For all youth enquiries, please contact our youth worker Jordan via email using the link below or by calling: 07719 902 313

Upcoming Events

Our Groups

Monday Youth Club

School Yrs 6-9

MYC runs every Monday, during term time, from 7pm-8:30pm. Entry is £1 per person. The group runs alternating weeks at Waltham Chase Methodist Church and Shirrell Heath Methodist Church.

This group is a great opportunity to make friends, have a lot of fun, with games, craft and prizes. We discuss great questions from the young people and introduce what Christianity is all about.

School Yrs 8+

After Service Fellowship is run on Sunday evenings at WCMC from 7pm-8:30pm during the school term.

With food, discussion, games and fun, what's not to love about ASF? This group is for all who want to find out a bit more just who this 'Jesus bloke' is, what he was all about, and if what he had to say 2000 years ago can still have animpact on our lives today.

TOAST on Tuesdays

School Yrs 9-13

TOAST (Talking on a Spiritual Topic) runs during term time each Tuesday from 7:30pm-9pm in the basement at WCMC.

Here we offer a space to go deeper and for young people to ask the big questions of life and faith (no question is a bad or silly one!) Anyone is welcome to explore these with us and of course eat snacks along the way. Sometimes it might even be toast!

Bible Class

School Yrs 6+

Bible Class is run as part of our Sunday services. We meet as part of the congregation at 10:30am and then after an initial time of worship we will head down to the youth basement.

This is a space for young people to meet together with their friends, to ask questions, pray, eat snacks and explore the Bible. We look to find out who it is all about and to see if it is still relevant to us in 2022!

We run two brilliant residentials each year!

In the summer we take a group of young people to the youth festival Satellites. We spend 4 days camping together and meeting with thousands of other young people exploring the Christian Faith, experiencing worship like they have never seen and encountering Jesus in new and exciting ways!

Every October half term, we go away for a weekend with youth groups from other churches in the surrounding area. For more information on this years trip check out the flyer below or visit our specific residential Instagram and Facebook Pages!

Please also check out the Gallery to see photos of some of our past trips!

Bookings have now closed for the Wildfire Weekend Away 2022. If you would like to enquire about extra spaces then please contact Jordan.

Our Socials

We work closely with our local primary school (St John the Baptist Church of England Primary) along with some other local schools.

In partnership with Southampton City Mission we run lunchtime clubs, help with school trips, deliver open-the-book assemblies, assist with year 6 productions, support R.E lessons and collective worship.

Wildfire Youth Project

We are proud to be part of the Wildfire Youth Project which is an organisation that brings different church youth groups from within and around Winchester together, giving young people an opportunity to meet with one another and encounter God. The Wildfire Team are passionate about working together for the benefit of young people from all around this area. They gather together resources and talents to run events such as youth training, school lunchtime clubs and girl’s self-esteem courses as well as worship evenings, socials and retreats for young people.
